So I just had a call from my now former fire chief telling me the fire department was going to be sued because of their affiliation with my dog.... MY DOG!!!! Not the fire department dog - MINE! This woman has lost her ever loving mind for real. I will fight this as long and as hard as I can and even if I lose the battle for my dog, I will continue to fight to have the state laws changed in regards to breeding.
All I know is that I was given a dog on 11/27/2013 because he is deaf, I have maintained his care and upkeep for the past 360 days. I have paid his vet bills and bought his food. NOT the fire department, NOT the breeder, NOT anyone other than my fiancee and I....
So is she suing us for slander? Because anything I have said about her is true. Is she suing me for defamation of character? Again, everything I have said is true. Harassment? I have sent her one e-mail telling her my feelings and I have used my freedom of speech in voicing my feelings on a public forum. I do not see that as harassment.
And in regards to my station, I have only run two calls on accident since early summer, MY dog has only been to the station maybe four times in his life and none since last December.... So how in the heck is the fire department involved in the least?
I am now more angry and upset than before because the station has done nothing, said nothing, just nothing in regards to this dog.... What the devil is wrong with this person? That I care more about the mother of my dog than the owner does and it all started because she is breeding these girls in puppy mill fashion? I knew I couldn't put anything past her, but this is just unreal....

Larceny of a dog...
"Chapter 14. Criminal Law. Subchapter V. Offenses Against Property. Article 16. Larceny.
§ 14-81. Larceny of horses, mules, swine, cattle, or dogs
(a) Larceny of horses, mules, swine, or cattle is a Class H felony.
(a1) Larceny of a dog is a Class I felony.
(b) In sentencing a person convicted of violating this section, the judge shall, as a minimum punishment, place a person on probation subject to the following conditions:

Now this does not say what larceny of a dog is... Does this mean refusal to return a dog as well? I'd say yes, but I am wondering what the state would say?

Known Health Issues with Sold Puppies
1) At least one of her pups was sold with a known heart murmur, the murmur did go away with age.
2) Two female puppies from the Oct. 9, 2012 breeding of Prince Pongo Blue Bowden & Diamond Perdita Juliet Bowden have had kidney issues at less than one year of age.
3) From the same breeding mention in #2 at least 2 pups were bilateral deaf and at least two were unilateral deaf, I could be mistaken, but I believe I was told there were more than that deaf AND uni.
4) At least one puppy had severe kennel cough upon leaving Lisa's kennel.
These first for are known problems as of Nov. 17th, 2013, more may be posted at a later date if I find more.

Letter to the breeder!
This letter was sent to Ms. Bowden on facebook on Nov. 13, 2013. I copied and pasted it onto my wall for the world to see after it was sent. In that wall post I included the following short paragraph. Also, in the wall post I had deleted the name of the facebook group I was referring too. I am not sure if that group is still in place or not, but I have no reason to hide anything. I am NOT going to stand idle and enable this woman by keeping quiet and so long as I am not committing slander she can't sue me as threatened. I have the freedom of speech! The group was Lisa's Spotted Family.

I was a breeder at one point & I know the meaning of courtesy & respect. I have not said one negative word to or about you until today when I found out that Perdita had been bred again for the third heat back to back. Having bred in the past I would NEVER bred a female three times back to back. Maybe things are different with large breed females, but my vet recommended I never bred more than two cycles back to back and preferably allow at least one cycle in between. My girls also NEVER had more than 3 litters in their entire lifetimes & I do know that it is acceptable to breed small dogs at an older age than large breeds.
That is the ONLY negative thing I have said about you. And now I have been told that should I (or anyone else) use your "company name" on the new group that I created that we will be sued? You want to threaten to sue people, fine, but make sure you remove any photos of myself, photos that I have taken and the testimonial that I wrote from your website immediately. You seem to think that you can control the actions of approximately 100 adult men and women with your threats. Threats to sue us, threats to take our dogs away.
Well, let me make this clear to you - I have parents that did a fine job of raising me till my 18th birthday when I became an adult in the eyes of the law. I have made my fair share of mistakes, just as we all have, I am not claiming innocence here, nor superiority. However, I am saying that each of us acquired our dog from you and that so long as the contract is upheld by us (taking proper care of the dog) that you can not take our dogs unless we voluntarily relinquish them to you.
And the last time I checked I had the freedom of speech on my side. So long as I am not committing slander I can say what I want to say, but I can promise you that I will never recommend you as a breeder to anyone else that I know. Your dogs are beautiful and smart, well mannered, overall sound, but what they do not lack, you do! My suggestion to you would be that if you don't stop breeding that you stop keeping track of your puppies beyond the point that they get altered. If owners have a medical problem let them contact you.
And on that note, seeing as there are 11 puppies from Spanner's litter and around 100 puppy owners total, why where the owners of the siblings to the dogs that have been sick not notified, even those from prior/post litters? You notified me of a potential yeast infection from food, however failed to let us all know that 2 pups from our litter had already had kidney problems at less than one year old? I am grateful that Spanner has not had any issues, as of now he is of sound health. However, the already high potential for dals to have kidney issues and we were not informed of that problem, no matter how small? Were the other puppy owners notified that one puppy had to have corrective surgery on the eyelids because they were turned in?
If you can't tell you have ticked off someone that does not mind saying her peace to you or the world. I have bitten my tongue because I have not known what was going on and still don't, truth be known. I do know that I have now been threatened with a bogus lawsuit. Puppy Mill or Backyard Breeder?
Well, I just got some more info about Lisa Bowen AKA Lisa's Fancy Dals and her *wonderful* dogs!!! Ugh, I am disgusted! I decided to get a pedigree on Spanner since I had rumor that his mother came from a puppy mill and low and behold his pedigree has a father bred to a daughter and then the same dog's offspring are bred back to half siblings. Not only does this dog have repeated appearances, but so does another female dog in the line. I am posting a copy of the pedigree here for the world to see!!! Continue reading below the pedigree!

Now I can't actually say that Perdita came from a puppy mill, as I have yet to find her breeder or any information on that person, however, anyone that knows a little about dogs and dog breeding knows that a dog shouldn't be this inbred. Especially when there are not any Champions or other titles in the line!
I also just found out that Lisa is known to place her unsalable pups in rescues. Not only does she place her pups in rescues, if she doesn't approve of the rescue she will attempt to get the pup back from them as well. She will also stalk the adopters that got the pups through the rescue, just as she stalkers the people that actually *buy* her dogs.
This is just insane! I am so sick over the fact that I supported this woman and ever recommended her to others after I got Spanner. Had I known this prior to getting my dog, I would never have adopted him, as much as I love him. I have no regrets getting him, I am just appalled to know that I was supporting a puppy mill / back yard breeder - call her what you want!
I do not have information on her other breeding pair at this point, but do plan to get information as soon as possible. I will post that information / pedigree as soon as I have it in hand.

Pissed off
I am so pissed at my baby boy's breeder at the moment. After all her puppy buyers have done to help her, she has decided to unfriend us all on facebook and threatened to sue us if we use her precious name or "company" name.... Yea, well I won't use them, but can I legally link to her kennel page? LOL
So, As far as I can tell so far these are the things that have happened as she tries to control our lives:
1) She stole one of the pups back because one of the owners broke up with their fiancee and moved out of state.
2) She stole another pup back because she claimed she was laying in a dirty crate all day (didn't look that way from photos of the puppy), then changed the story to she was overdue on her shots (according to her age, she was 2 weeks or less overdue).
3) She got all pissy with another of the owners for placing a urine sample in the refrigerator.
4) Got bent out of shape after yet another couple split up.
5) Got bent out of shape when my fiancee and I got a ball python.
6) Got upset with another owner when they posted happy birthday to the pups on the wrong day (when she posted photos on facebook with two different dates as the birthday)!
7) Another because they were sending other puppy owners antlers when they were available!
8) Another because they didn't take their pup to formal obedience classes.
9) Yet another for sharing funny stories about the pup eating things as it grew up.
Now, lets move along to the health issues that I know of. In my litter alone there has been two pups that have serious kidney issues. There were at least two bilateral deaf and several unilateral deaf. From her other female there is at least one that had a heart murmur. Many of the pups from both her females have dental issues - missing teeth or improper bite. She admitted to one owner that she got at least one of her breeding dogs from a puppy mill. She does not do OFA testing for hips, elbows, eyes, or thyroid issues.
And there is the attitude problem - she thinks she can control every single aspect of your pups life from when they go to the vet to when and if they get obedience training. She says she will never sale to anyone that is gay, unmarried, not a home owner, military, fire, or police. If you do not do what she says, how she says, when she says she threatens to either take your dog away or sue you.
And in all of this, I have never once had harsh words with her myself. I am just totally pissed that she has decided to disrespect some of the best dog parents she could ever ask for because she has it in her mind that even upon selling the dog that she still has some rights to it. She does offer a contract that states you have to take proper care of your dog and that it has to be spayed/neutered and that should you ever need to place it that she has first right to refuse... Other than that, her contract isn't worth the ink and the paper used to make it. Hopefully for $650-$900 a puppy no one else will fall into her trap! And for those that do, may G-d speed be with you!
